Refinished the teak on my 2018 Chris Craft Catalina 30. Previous owner varnished the teak which is exactly opposite how you treat real teak wood.
I spent 4 hours sanding the teak and then spent less than 2 hours on all 3 stages of Just Teak. I am expecting the next treatment in a year will take less than 2 hours.
The process is simple and straight forward. Even the scrub pads are included in the kit. I did 2 treatments of cleaner, 2 treatments of brightener, and 3 treatments of sealer. The finished product looked like brand new wood.
A few suggestions: Wear gloves when using the cleaner or brightner. I beat my hands up pretty badly sanding and both of these products will make open wounds sting. Find something to attach the included scrub pads to. I used my hands since I couldn’t find a pole or hand brush to attach the pads to. Again, beat my hands up pretty good. Something with a handle holding the pad is better than your fist clamping the pad and banging into the wood. Use “painters rags” to apply the sealer. After you are done simply use mineral spirits to remove the sealer from any hardware or gel coat.
Great product. Will buy again. One suggestion to Greencorp is to supply more cleaner and brightner in the kit and less sealer. I used 1/2 of the cleaner and brightner and less than 1/5th of the sealer and that was putting 3 coats of sealer on.
Happy to provide pictures of my finished job if interested. Amazing results.
